Domain Investment Analysis
Domain investment analysis scores a whole keyword instead of a single name. Bishopi checks every TLD carrying the keyword, how much of the namespace is still open, what names containing it have sold for, and the search demand behind it — then returns one verdict. Every figure carries its source and sample size, and any figure the data can't support is withheld with the reason shown in its place.

Four kinds of number
Most domain tools return a figure and leave you to guess whether anyone checked it. Every value Bishopi returns is stamped with how it was arrived at, the number of observations behind it, and the period it covers.
That matters most on thin keywords. The majority of second-level domains in the corpus have exactly one recorded sale — so a median built from them is a single data point wearing a statistic's clothes, and it should say so.
- Measured
- Bishopi counted it directly in its own corpus of recorded sales and registrations. The sample size is shown next to it.
- Sourced
- It came from a named third-party data vendor, with the window it covers. Bishopi did not observe it.
- Derived
- It was calculated from other figures on the same page, so its reliability is bounded by theirs.
- Modelled
- It is an estimate produced by a model, not an observation. Treated as the weakest class of evidence and labelled as such.
What the verdict reads
Four panels, each scored 0–100 and each showing its own evidence. The overall verdict names the factor carrying it and the factor dragging it down, so you can disagree with the reasoning rather than just the number.
Supply
How many of the 1,436 catalogued TLDs carry the keyword, how much of that namespace is still available, and how much is listed for sale. Registration is confirmed against the registry — RDAP first, WHOIS as fallback — rather than inferred from whether a name resolves.
Demand
Monthly search volume behind the keyword and how contested it is, sourced from a named vendor and labelled as such.
Price
The median of recorded sales with a confidence interval computed from order statistics, the month-by-month medians behind it, and a trend tested with a rank-based method that corrects for consecutive months being correlated. Below 30 recorded sales no trend is reported at all.
Resale economics
What names containing the keyword have actually changed hands for, on which marketplaces, and how that has moved — the difference between a keyword people like and a keyword people pay for.
Investment analysis vs domain appraisal
They answer different questions and most investors need both. Use an appraisal to price a name you already have; use investment analysis to decide whether to go looking for one.
| Domain appraisal | Investment analysis | |
|---|---|---|
| Answers | What is this one domain worth? | Is this keyword worth being in at all? |
| Scope | A single domain name | Every TLD carrying the keyword |
| Output | A price estimate with a range | A 0–100 verdict across supply, demand, price and resale |
| Use it when | You have a name and need to price it | You have a theme and need to know where to look |
